What does Remy hair mean?
You will see Remy on almost every extension description. Here is what it means and why people care.
Hair has a cuticle, a layer of tiny overlapping scales, like roof tiles. In Remy hair, the strands are kept running in the same direction, root to tip, so the cuticles all lie one way.
Why it matters
When the cuticles run the same way, the hair is smoother, reflects light better and is less likely to tangle. Hair that is mixed up can feel rougher and mat more easily.
What suppliers say
GL Hair describes its extensions as 100 percent Remy human hair. If you are comparing suppliers, ask what the hair is graded on and how it is sourced.
Looking after it
Even good hair needs care. Brush gently from the ends up, wash with gentle products and ask your stylist about maintenance.
Read the type guide on the home page to see which extension suits you.
