Nano tip, tape or weft?
Three popular ways to add length and volume, with different looks and different upkeep. Here is how to choose.
When you start looking at human hair extensions, three names come up first: nano tip, tape and weft. They all add length, but they work in different ways.
Nano tip
Strands with a very small pre-bonded tip, fitted by a stylist to thin sections of hair. They sit close to the root, which is why they are often chosen for fine hair.
Tape
Thin wefts with an adhesive strip that lie flat against the head. Fitting is quick, and the result is smooth.
Weft
A band of hair attached in rows. Wefts give a lot of volume in one go, so they suit people who want fullness as well as length.
How to choose
- Fine hair, discreet result: nano tip or tape
- Maximum volume: weft
- Not sure: ask a stylist, and read the type guide on the home page
Whichever you pick, a good colour match matters most. GL Hair says it offers a colour match service.
